posts videos to share the joy of the completed Missions as well as to provide you with the information you need to:

A) Increase your awareness of healthcare and rehabilitation
(knowledge is absolutely power in the medical world!)
B) Be prepared when illness or disability comes
(no more being reactive when it comes to our health - let's become proactive together)
C) Advocate for yourself or a loved one throughout hospitalization and recovery
(know the right questions to ask, know how to help)

How Do You Do a Slide Board Transfer?

Slide boards can be game changers! There are several different styles of sliding boards and the one I'm showing you today is the standard. (One type that is pretty cool is called a Beasy board and those actually have a disk built in that helps slide the most hard to move individuals!) Despite the type, the principals of using a board to transfer remain the same :) Like I mention in the video, my number 1 slide board tip/hospital hack is to put a pillow case over it if you are going to be transferring someone who isn't wearing pants in order to protect the skin!

P.S. Special thanks to my patient who really wasn't in the mood to be a patient this day, as you may be able to tell by her getup. Cara, we are all so grateful to be learning from your fine demonstration, you're a natural, xo.
