How to Wrap a Swollen Leg

Updated: Sep 12, 2018

Wrapping a leg for edema(shoutout to #terminologytuesday y'all know this word now, yeah???!) management can be a little tricky but becomes easier with practice! It is especially important to take caution not to create a tourniquet effect, which could happen if you are just wrapping in circles around the leg. This figure 8 technique is best - the idea is that we are compressing to push the fluid upwards, so that it's able to eventually come out in your urine. Fun facts! P.S. You know I meant to say knee there at the end, right? ;) Right. Bear with me.
