posts videos to share the joy of the completed Missions as well as to provide you with the information you need to:

A) Increase your awareness of healthcare and rehabilitation
(knowledge is absolutely power in the medical world!)
B) Be prepared when illness or disability comes
(no more being reactive when it comes to our health - let's become proactive together)
C) Advocate for yourself or a loved one throughout hospitalization and recovery
(know the right questions to ask, know how to help)

Mission #3

Doug is THE MAN. Let me tell you why. For as long as I've known him, he's been an optimist - a tough feat when life deals you these cards. He also refuses to use a power chair (although the staff at Mobility Connection was kind enough to let us borrow a couple while we waited) and is determined to walk.

As Roger said, Medicare is only paying the BARE BONES MINIMUM for so many individuals who need new equipment. And so, if Doug needed a new chair paid for by Medicare, he wouldn't get one customized for him like this one - he'd get one of those basic ones you see in the hospital, making it hard for him to propel and navigate spaces in his home and the community. Many people in chairs are choosing to repair their old chairs bit by bit vs. getting one of these basic ones and none of these repairs are covered by Medicare. Please consider donating to this organization at www.allietheot.com/contact-donate to help more individuals like Doug! These missions aren't possible without you!
